The Short Answer
Ten people costs $128.41, which is $12.84 a head. Twenty costs $227.84 at $11.39 each, and thirty costs $349.26 at $11.64. Note that the cost per head does not simply fall with the size of the party: twenty is the cheapest of the three, because twenty people divide neatly into whole pizzas and thirty leave six slices spare.
If it is pizza only and nothing else, ten people is $47.97.
Why This Menu Can Actually Be Planned From
Most chains sell a "family pack" and never say what a family is. Papa John's prints a count on almost everything: 61 of its 86 items tell you how many slices, pieces or servings you are buying. That is what makes the arithmetic below real rather than a guess.
Two figures here are ours rather than theirs, and they are the only two: 3 slices a head and 4 wings a head as a side. Papa John's publishes neither. Everything else came off the menu.

Order by the Slice, Not by the Pizza
The size that looks dearest on the menu is usually the cheapest way to feed people. A Large Shaq-a-Roni Pizza is $16.99, more than a XL Pepperoni Pizza at $16.99, but it carries 12 slices against 10, so it works out at $1.42 a slice rather than $1.70.

Four Things Worth Knowing Before You Order
- Order one size up. The bigger pizza nearly always costs less per slice, and nobody at a party counts how many pizzas arrived.
- Three slices a head is a floor. It is our figure, not the chain's, and a party that runs past nine will clear four. One more pizza costs less than running out.
- Count the leftovers before you order. Thirty people need 90 slices and eight pizzas carry 96, so six slices are paid for and not eaten. Dropping to seven pizzas leaves the room four slices short, which is the worse mistake.
- Dips are not included. They are ordered separately, so a table of twenty wanting ranch is a line on the bill nobody plans for.
- Check the app for offers before you order. What is live changes through October, and the codes floating around coupon sites are mostly dead.
Where These Numbers Come From
Every price is Papa John's own published menu, checked August 2026. Every count, 61 of them across the menu, is the chain's own wording: "12 slices" on a Large Shaq-a-Roni Pizza, "per order of 16" on the wings, "serves 6" on the large cookie.
Two numbers are ours and are labelled as ours wherever they appear: 3 slices and 4 wings a head. Nothing else on this page was assumed.
