Papa John's Wings Menu: Flavors, Sizes & Prices

Every wing flavour at $9.99 for 8 and $17.99 for 16, with calories, dips and the maths on which box to order.

Papa John's Wings Prices

Wings come in two counts and one price each. Eight pieces is $9.99, sixteen is $17.99, and that figure does not move with the sauce. Buffalo costs what unsauced costs, and Garlic Parmesan costs what BBQ costs.

That flat pricing is worth noticing because it is not how most menus work. There is no premium flavour to talk yourself out of and no cheap one to settle for, so the only question is what you actually feel like eating.

Prices checked August 2026. Papa John's stores are mostly franchised, so treat these as typical US carryout prices rather than one national list.

The 16-Piece Is the Better Buy

Eight wings at $9.99 works out to $1.25 a wing. Sixteen at $17.99 comes to $1.12. That is about ten percent off per wing for ordering the bigger box, which is a rare thing on a menu where most upsizes cost you more per unit rather than less.

The trap is ordering two small boxes. Two 8-piece orders cost $19.98 for the same sixteen wings the large box sells at $17.99. You pay $1.99 for the privilege of having them arrive in two containers.

There is one case where two boxes make sense, and that is when you want two different sauces. Papa John's tosses a whole order in one sauce, so a mixed table either splits into two 8-piece boxes or picks a flavour everyone will eat.

Every Wing Flavor, One by One

Buffalo is the default and the one most orders land on. Vinegar-forward and properly hot rather than nominally hot, which is why it is also the only flavour with a boneless version - it is the one people order in volume.

BBQ is the sweet one, thicker than the buffalo and closer to a glaze than a toss. It is the safe pick for a mixed table, and the one children will actually eat.

Honey Chipotle sits between the two. Sweet on the front, smoky heat behind it, and hotter than the name suggests. If your group is split between Buffalo and BBQ, this is usually the compromise that satisfies neither camp but offends nobody.

Garlic Parmesan is the outlier - creamy and savoury rather than hot, closer to the Special Garlic sauce than to anything in the buffalo family. It is the flavour that divides rooms, and the one worth ordering if you have already had the other three.

Unsauced is exactly that, at the same price as everything else. Ordering plain and adding a cup of dip on the side costs $10.98 for eight and puts you in control of how much sauce lands on each one.

Bone-In vs Boneless

Five of the six options are bone-in. Boneless exists in Buffalo only, at the same $9.99 and $17.99 as the rest.

Boneless wings are breaded pieces of chicken breast rather than actual wings. That is worth knowing before the box arrives rather than after. The breading holds sauce differently, they eat more like a tender, and they go soft faster in the box on a delivery order. Bone-in travels better.

Neither is the correct answer. But if you are ordering boneless because you assume they are the same thing without the bone, they are not.

Calories and What to Expect

Every calorie figure on this page covers the whole order rather than a single wing. An 8-piece is 620 calories and a 16-piece is 1,240, and that holds across every flavour on the list, unsauced included. Divided out, a wing is roughly 78 calories.

For scale, 620 calories is about three slices of Large Cheese Pizza. So an 8-piece order beside a couple of slices is a full meal rather than a starter, which is the thing most people get wrong when ordering wings on top of a pizza for one.

The dips are where it quietly adds up. A cup of Ranch is 150 calories and Blue Cheese is 160, which means two cups across a 16-piece order adds another slice of pizza to the total without anyone counting it.

Dips and Pairings

Wings arrive dry of dip entirely. Nothing comes in the box, so if you want one it has to be added at checkout, and at $0.99 a cup it is the cheapest mistake to avoid making.

Blue Cheese against Buffalo is the pairing that exists for a reason - the dairy cuts the vinegar heat rather than just diluting it. Ranch does the same job more gently and is the one to order for a table that includes people who do not want heat at all. Honey Chipotle wants Ranch rather than Blue Cheese, since blue cheese and sweetness fight each other.

Garlic Parmesan is the one flavour that does not need a dip, and pairing it with the Special Garlic sauce doubles down in a way people either love or find far too much. The full list is on the dipping sauces page, priced at $0.69 and $0.99.

Ordering Wings for a Group

As a side dish beside pizza, a 16-piece comfortably covers four people at four wings each. As the main event with nothing else on the table, the same box feeds two.

For a larger group the maths stays simple: order in 16s rather than 8s, and split flavours across boxes rather than trying to mix within one. Three 16-piece boxes at $53.97 covers a dozen people as a side, in three sauces, which is a better spread than six small boxes at $59.94 would give you.

If wings are going alongside pizza, the pizza menu has the size-per-slice maths, and the full price list has everything else in one table.
